Spirit Squad
Spirit Squad are a team of enthusiastic year 5 and 6 children who help to bring God's presence into our school community. They support the planning and leading of assemblies and class liturgies, encouraging prayer and reflection across the school. They also take part in organising fundraising acttvities for charities and other special causes, helping to put faith into action.
Through their words and actions Spirit Squad inspire others to live out our school values and grow closer to God.
Cluster group links
As part of our Pilgrims of Hope celebrations - our Spirit Squad have linked with a school in Skelmersdale. Our cluster of schools decided to link and make a keepsake for the leaving year 6 and an welcoming keepsake for the new Reception children. We decided to make God's eyes for Reception and colourful keyrings with a cross charm on for Year 6. It was hard work but we got there!
Our link school made us some hammer bead keyrings for year 6 and some doves of hope for Reception. Thank you St Francis of Assisi.
Praying the Rosary in May
The children have been looking the prayers of the Rosary in class and asked to pray the Rosary during Spirit Squad. We invited some year 4 children and helped to set up a focus table. Together we prayed one decade of the Rosary during lunch time. The following week the children had it all set up and ready to go again. A super turn out on a sunny lunchtime.
Advent 24
Spirit Squad have volunteered all their lunch times this week to help make each class their own Advent wreath. They went out to collect the holly and ivy before making their creations. A few prickled fingers later, they were all made - 8 amazing wreaths.
Ash Wednesday 2024
'Spirit Squad' planned, created a power point and designed the prayer space for our whole school collective worship. They willingly gave up playtimes and lunchtimes to make sure everything was perfect! A huge thanks also to Deacon Keith who came to celebrate the liturgy with us.

November 23
'Spirit Squad' cut out poppy shapes for each child in the school and used these to create a Poppy Cross during our Remembrance day Collective Worship assembly. A stunning reminder of all the people that gave their lives to keep us safe during the wars.
