Meet the Governors

St George's Catholic Primary School and Nursery is a voluntary aided Catholic school, established to support Catholic parents in their responsibility for the academic, physical, spiritual, moral and religious education of their children in accordance with the teachings of the church. The governing body of our school is responsible for ensuring that pupils receive high quality education and that the conduct of the school reflects this aim. As Governors, we work as a team with the head teacher in the whole strategic planning and management of the school. Our responsibilities include consideration and agreement of the aims and policies of the school, discussion and approval of the targets for improvement, appointment of staff, setting and monitoring the budget and monitoring the performance of the school.  We also monitor how the school reports to parents and their community on how they have accomplished their tasks. We are the link between the school and the community, made up of representatives of all those with an interest in the well-being and reputation of the school. Parents are very important in keeping the Governing Body aware of the views of parents and the local community, being a vital part of our team.

Information regarding our Governing Body is detailed below (please use the scroll-down tool).  If you require any further information about Governors, or the role of Governors, please contact the school and we’ll be happy to help.
