Our Learning This Week

What a busy and exciting week it has been!  The children have all made their own potions for the Colour Monster and I really think that this text has helped our children to emotionally regulate when required.  Staff have been able to help children identify different emotions and have supported them in finding strategies to help.

Next week, we will be more explicitly talking about how to look after ourselves and each other.  We have touched on this when we introduce our healthy snacks and baking activities - the children are able to join in conversations about which foods keep us healthy and strong.  Next week, we begin our routine of dry tooth brushing, in line with the current government guidelines, so taht the children can learn all about good oral health.  We have a brilliant set of false teeth to use as a provocation, along with non-fiction and fiction texts about teeth!  They will love it, I'm sure!

After that we will be learning about the imoprtance of sleep and all about theDummy Fairy, which we have introduced this year to help wean our children off their dummy.  I have spoken with individual parents about this, since we need to be working togther during this important stage in your child's life.  If your child has a dummy, even if just for bedtime, please speak with me and I can explain our dummy-weaning process and be able to support you.
