Important Information

Nursery Times

The nursery door will open at 9 am until 9:10 each morning. Due to Covid restrictions, parents are currently not able to come in to the nursery porch, so we ask that parents queue and children enter one at a time into the porch.

This will allow staff to help the children with coats/bookbags/lunchboxes etc and mean we can take any messages, whilst ensuring the safety of the children.

For those children staying until 12pm, the nursery gate will be opened at around 11.50 for parents to collect their children.

Uniform

The Nursery uniform consists of:

  • Red jogging bottoms
  • Red sweatshirt
  • White polo t shirt.
  • Black sensible shoes (not laces unless your child can tie them themselves)
  • A school book bag - Children in Nursery will need a bag to keep reading books, artwork and school letters in.

Uniform is available to purchase with the St George's logo on from either Mrs Jones in the school office, or from the nursery staff.

In the summer term, children can wear a red checked summer dress or grey tailored shorts.

Nursery children spend a lot of time outdoors, please ensure they have a pair of named wellies in school and bring a suitable waterproof coat each day.

Snack Money

Children in Nursery are given a snack each morning. This varies each day and might include foods such as a piece of toast, a crumpet, biscuit or cracker with cheese/jam. Children have the choice of milk or water with their snack. To cover the cost of snack, we ask that parents pay Snack Money each week.

Snack money is £1.50 per week and can either be paid weekly or half termly, please either pass in an envelope to Mrs Davies or Mrs Duke on the door, or via your child's book bag.

Reading books

Nursery children will bring home a new reading book each Monday for the week. Please remember to send in your child's book bag along with both their yellow reading record and current reading book each Monday.

Spare Clothes

Please can children have a spare set of underwear and socks and a spare pair of trousers in the drawstring bag on their peg. These can then stay at school and be used in case of any toilet accidents, or muddy accidents from playing outside in all weathers.

Water Bottles

Please can you ensure your child's water bottle is named and cleaned and refilled everyday. Only water, no juice please.

Tissues

Nursery children go through a lot of tissues in nursery, especially during the winter months when children often have coughs and colds.  We ask that children donate a box of tissues at the start of the year.

School App

Please can you ensure you have the school app on your phone. Mrs Jones will send you a link to register for this.

Cookie and Cakes

Each Friday, nursery children can bring in 50p to enjoy a cookie or a cake.  Money made from this will go towards reading books for children across the school.
