We plan topics as a Foundation Stage. We look at where the children are at in terms of their current understanding and development and we plan activities that help them to progress. Our topics take into account the age and stage of development for our children, the topics that we know are popular for our children, times in the year and other festivals. We have devised a curriculum coverage that we use from nursery through to reception. This shows where we are most likely to cover certain areas of development. This coverage, however, is subject to change if we adapt topics to follow the children's interests.
