Wrap Around Care

Our Wrap Around Care is available to all Nursery children each day from 11.45 am until 3.30 pm. Children who stay bring their own packed lunch and are looked after in our Nursery over the lunchtime period.  They then join in with our Reception children or have bespoke activities with Mrs Cartwright.  There is a charge of £15 for each afternoon session or just £3 for care until 1.15 pm.

Please contact Mrs Jones in our office if you wish your child to stay as places are limited and you need to book and pay in advance.

Severe Weather Procedures

We will always endeavour to keep our school open as usual when there is severe weather.  However, if there is snow and/or ice then we will keep all gates to the playground locked and ask parents/carers to bring all children into school through the main entrance.  These doors will be open from approximately 8.30am to allow children to come into school safely.

If the weather is still severe then children will leave school by these same routes at the end of the day.

We will always try to communicate information with you via the school website especially if the school day is affected by adverse weather.

SCHOOL HOT DINNERS

From September 2015, all children in Reception and Key Stage One are entitled to a free hot school dinner.  From January 2015, the Government introduced New Food Standards for school food, underpinned in legislation by The Requirements for School Food Regulations 2014.  The new standards were developed by the School Food Plan Standards Expert Panel and advised by The Children’s Food Trust’s (CFT) nutrition team.  The school menu has been developed in conjunction with the nutritionists at the CFT via their menu checking service.  The CFT have nutritionally analysed not only the new menus, but also the recipes used, cooking methods and the food purchased.  Therefore, we can confidently say that hot dinners provide all the energy and nutrients that children need to do well at school.
